AgeBetter with Community Gardens
Our plan for a community garden for seniors is rooted in the word “community.” We know that locally grown produce retains its highest nutritional value when it’s served at a local table. Further, we see the healthful benefits to community when residents work together, learn together, and grow together, sharing similar values.
AgeBetter, Inc., is working to secure a large plot of arable land situated near a community of older adults for the purpose of starting a community garden program. The opportunity for exercise, education, better nutrition, purpose in work, and social interaction all play a vital role in the health and well-being of seniors as they age.
Additional programming ideas may sprout from abundant yields, further enhancing the opportunity and wellness of our community. Stay tuned for more updates.
